Webbing slippage warning in Weblocks

2023-04-16T16:48:21+02:00

Webbing slippage warning in Weblocks. We have identified the mechanism responsible for webbing slippage in webbing lockers (weblocks). During a test on a hydraulic cyclic testing machine, we found webbing to move through the weblock with every stretch and release cycle. We observed this micro-slippage of the webbing within the weblock. The webbing was installed in single wrap without a tie-off so we could witness webbing slippage, webbing tailwalk, and a complete failure of the webbing locking mechanism first hand. 2019-12-06T01:41:04+01:00

Publications by language What is the data page? As work on the new ISA Website began, it turned out that an archive was necessary to house all the data, publications, forms and future output of the ISA. The SlackEd platform was born out of this necessity. It is a platform that contains all the knowledge and organisational material the ISA creates. Spaceflower – Transalp Waterline Tour #8

2018-03-03T04:01:37+01:00

Transalp Waterline Tour #8 At the heart of the Swiss Alps, Flims hosted international slackliners for the 8th consecutive year. More than 100 slackliners went on the tour to visit beautiful mountain lakes. To add to the stunning scenery at Caumasee (Lake Cauma), this spontaneous and colorful art installation was born. Made from 1000m of slackline webbing and 24 hammocks, it took 3 days to install over the lake. First seen in Sept 2017, this installation is planned to appear again.
