High-Altitude Highlining World Records- where is this heading?

The new record has huge implications on altitude highlining, it means that the final frontier now is the Himalaya, since this is one of the highest possible lines in the Andes mountain range! There remains the possiblity to rig a line on Aconcagua, the highest mountain in South America, but since this a very commercial mountain the permits are expensive.

Check out the comments we got from them:

This highline was part of a project that took 5 months. In the first stage we lived in San Pedro de Atacama (2500m), where we started climbing the volcanoes of the area to train. We installed a highline of 115 meters length in the summit of Lascar (5592m), to achieve this we had to climb it 3 times. Then in Licancabur summit (5916m) we installed a 95 meter long highline, for this we had to climb it 4 times, and sleep 2 times in the crater. Finally we had to live 1 month at the base of Ojos del Salado volcano (6893m) and climb it 3 times. It was on December 21st when we installed the highline at 6880m and could walk it. The crew was a chilean group composed by:
Lascar Volcano: Matías Grez, Moisés Castro, Diego Troncoso, Bernardita Lira
Licancabur Volcano: Matías Grez, Rodrigo Flores, Bernardita
Lira Ojos del Salado Volcano: Matías Grez, Rodrigo Flores, René García, Claudio Echegaray, Bernardita Lira
