First comparative weblock cyclic loading tests We tested different webbing lockers to gain insight into fatigue behaviour of weblocks and evaluate the weblock safety standard ISA:51. The ISA Safety Commission did this extensive work in collaboration with the University of Nottingham department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering Cyclic Loading Publication (PDF) #1 Cyclic Loading Publication (PDF) #2 Statement by Slackinov ISA Gear Warnings In partnership with: ISA Safety Partners ISA Safety Label

Augustin Moinat wins the Rigging Masters in Bern

2020-09-21T17:32:11+02:00

One of the few competitions which could take place after the Lockdown was the Rigging Masters at Bern City Slack with 27 Participants from 6 countries! The competitors had to prove their rigging and improvisation skills in 3 qualification rounds, a 6-person time trial in the semis and a direct shoot out with Augustin Moinat (CA) and Benoit Humm (FR) in the finals.  Rigging competitions are meant to be engaging for the participants and entertaining for the audience. They are not a serious measure of someone's ability to rig slacklines. If you want to organise your own [...]

First ISA Safety Standard Published

2020-03-04T03:24:09+01:00

ISA:21 Highline Systems What is a highline? The ISA:21 Highline Systems Standard is a formal engineering definition and description of what a highline is and what the various components it consists of are. In addition to that, it also defines the forces that are acting upon the webbing, anchors and the highliner. In essence, it is a lot of fancy words, but it allows our partners and testing laboratories to communicate more effectively. Download Highline System Standard 21:2019 On one hand this standard provides a framework for highliners as well as slackline [...]

Webbing slippage warning in Weblocks

2023-04-16T16:48:21+02:00

Webbing slippage warning in Weblocks. We have identified the mechanism responsible for webbing slippage in webbing lockers (weblocks). During a test on a hydraulic cyclic testing machine, we found webbing to move through the weblock with every stretch and release cycle. We observed this micro-slippage of the webbing within the weblock. The webbing was installed in single wrap without a tie-off so we could witness webbing slippage, webbing tailwalk, and a complete failure of the webbing locking mechanism first hand.
