Nuri has been slacklining since 2005, and started introducing slacklining to the people around him while he was practicing occasionally. However it was not until he went to Portugal for his studies in 2011, when he discovered highlining and became strongly involved in the slacklife. Back in Turkey, Nuri contributed to developing a local slackline community in İstanbul. Together with his friends he started organizing slackline meetings and workshops. Standing out, Nuri is a founding member and president of the Turkish Slackline Association, Slackline Derneği, and has been working on creating slackline courses in Turkey. In addition to the latter, he is also one of the driving forces behind organizing the Turkish Highline Carnival, which became one of the longest running international highline festivals in the world. With his extensive background in teaching and volunteer work he helps coordinate the ISA´s effort to develop an internationally recognized slackline instructor diploma.
